Be The Change

      Wanting to serve others and make a difference in the world seems to be prevalent in many people's lives. I want to learn how to "Be the change" and affect humanity for the good. Having a career as a social entrepreneur is not for everyone. Some do know how to take their ideas and create innovative products and services. Others will find organizations that are already in existence to work for/with. Many will volunteer to serve social entrepreneurs and existing organizations.      Fabio Rosa is an inspirational social engineer. Through decades of vision, service, and hard work he brought electricity and solar to rural communities in Brazil. Rosa's determination to succeed is truly amazing. Week 1 - What is Social Innovation?

     Social innovation is a creative way to solve global challenges. Individuals who are passionate about a problem and go to work figuring out how to solve the problem may use it to become social entrepreneurs. Nelson Mandela says, "It always seems impossible until it is done." The ability to look at a challenge that seems impossible and come up with possible solutions is social innovation.       The Ballard Center at Brigham Young University inspired me through the global work they are providing. The students at the Ballard Center are encouraged to be innovative in facing global challenges. It is beautiful how unique each student is and how they use their individual talents to serve people throughout the world.      Social innovation is important today as the world is getting smaller through the use of technology.
